Chiropractor for Numbness – Lifeway Mobile Chiropractic

Do you frequently experience numbness in your fingers, hands, or toes? That strange “pins and needles” sensation might seem harmless at first, but when it happens regularly—or doesn’t go away—it can seriously interfere with your daily life.

At Lifeway Mobile Chiropractic, we work to uncover the root causes of numbness and provide gentle, effective chiropractic care that’s delivered right to your home or office.

Whether your symptoms come from posture, nerve compression, or a past injury, our goal is to help you feel better, move better, and live without the discomfort of numbness holding you back.

Understanding Numbness

Numbness is a common signal that your nervous system needs attention. It may feel like tingling, a “falling asleep” sensation, reduced sensitivity, or complete lack of feeling in a certain area—especially in your hands, fingers, or toes.

While it might come and go, ongoing or worsening numbness shouldn’t be ignored. It’s your body’s way of telling you something's wrong: pressure, irritation, inflammation, etc. happening along a nerve pathway.

Symptoms may be brought on or aggravated by:

  • Fine motor activities involving your hands, such as typing or crafting

  • Repetitive daily actions like walking and cleaning

  • Sedentary activities, including sleeping, computer work, or driving

  • Falls, car wrecks, sports injuries, and other accidents

What Causes Numbness?

While numbness can be due to disease processes, chronic conditions, medication side effects, infections, diet, and more, it is most commonly due to compression of a nerve; we describe this as neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) in origin. The exact NMSK cause can be discerned based on the location, quality, and timing of your symptoms combined with information from your health history and physical exam.

Some of the most common causes of numbness include:

  • Misalignments or restrictions in spinal joints

  • Disc bulges or herniations

  • Weak posture

  • Overuse/repetitive use injuries

  • Core instability

  • Sedentary lifestyle

At Lifeway Mobile Chiropractic, we can help with all of these and more! Our provider takes a whole-body approach to identify where the nerve is being affected and address the source, not just the symptom.

How Can Chiropractic Care Help with Numbness?

Numbness in fingers, numbness in hands, and numbness in toes can all improve with chiropractic care. The chiropractic exam focuses on unravelling the mystery of that irritating tingling, and chiropractic treatment is uniquely suited to get you relief. Here’s how:

1. Gentle Spinal Adjustments

Faulty position or motion in spinal joints can irritate nearby nerves—especially those that travel into the arms, hands, and legs. Chiropractic adjustments gently correct these issues, improving spinal health, bringing relief, and preventing damage.

2. Soft Tissue and Muscle Work

Both tight and weak muscles can put pressure on delicate nerves. We use hands-on techniques to balance muscle tension and mobilize fascia, which supports nerve health.

3. Posture and Ergonomic Guidance

Sitting or standing with weak posture—such as at a desk or while carrying your baby—can produce numbness in the extremities over time. Our provider will give you simple tips to improve your posture and your workspace (whether that's in an office, on-the-go, or at home), so your body feels more comfortable and supported throughout the day.

4. Personalized Stretches and Mobility Work

You’ll learn movement strategies to support spine and nerve health between visits. These small changes make a big difference in reducing numbness and keeping symptoms from returning.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first mobile chiropractic session has 3 parts.

  1. We'll start with a conversation, reviewing all the details of your symptoms, your health history and lifestyle factors, and your goals for care.

  2. You'll receive a thorough assessment and an overview of Dr. Crowe's findings.

  3. Most patients are treated at their first visit with safe and effective chiropractic adjustments and beneficial muscle therapy.

Shortly after your visit, a summary of that day's visit and your personalized treatment plan will be uploaded to your patient portal.

Many people report noticeable improvement within just 1 or 2 sessions—especially those who seek care soon after symptoms begin, but it's never too late! Remember, discomfort is usually the last thing to come and the first thing to go in healing, so follow your doctor's treatment plan for the best, most long-lasting results.
